On Saturday, November 29, ASAP is hosting an exclusive PMU EXPERIENCE DAY at ASAP Kempen.
Who is this day for?Anyone considering taking a PMU training course. This day allows you to truly see what following the training will entail, what to expect, and what you can achieve at the end of these lessons.
PMU is for doers — those who want and can make a difference in many people’s lives. Think of people with eyeliner who wake up without “fuzz” to redo their daily eyeliner. People with beautifully colored lips who no longer hesitate to apply lipstick. Also consider medical cases, such as scars people carry throughout their lives. In short, PMU can make a significant difference in many lives.
What does the day look like?
For those registered (kempen@asap-nails.com), we have scheduled several focused sessions throughout the day:
- Group 1:
- 10:00–12:00: Live PMU Model Demo — Sem works live, and participants can follow along.
- 12:00–12:30: Info session with Sem — Ask all your questions directly to our educator. Have your questions ready!
- Group 2:
- 14:00–16:00: Live PMU Model Demo — The second group enjoys a live demo with Sem.
- 16:00–16:30: Info session with Sem — Ask your questions directly to our educator. Be prepared!
We deliberately work in small groups to give everyone enough space for questions and to ensure a relaxed atmosphere.
PMU artist Sem speaks
Who is Sem, our PMU educator? She provides insight into herself and the courses she teaches at ASAP Academy.
With over twenty-five years of experience, Sem M’Hiri is an established name in the beauty world. What began as a passion has grown into an international career helping women (and men) recognize themselves in the mirror. For twenty years, she has been passionately teaching both in Belgium and abroad — her passion knows no borders.
“Permanent makeup is much more than technique to me. It is a form of sculpting self-confidence — subtle, precise, and respectful of each person’s unique face.”
Why is PMU interesting for your salon?
The added value of permanent makeup is enormous. Integrating this service into your salon immediately elevates your offerings. Not only because it is a high-quality, well-paid service, but also because it gives clients a long-lasting sense of beauty and convenience. Furthermore, PMU training is an investment that pays off quickly. With proper guidance, you can soon start performing real treatments and make a difference in your salon practice.
“The beauty is,” says Sem, “a PMU treatment doesn’t just change a face; it often changes self-image. People literally gain more expression — and therefore more confidence. It shows.”
How does the training work?
Sem’s courses are structured in clear phases:
- Part 1 – Basic Training: Learn fundamental techniques, hygiene, color theory, and shape corrections.
- Part 2 – Practice & Deepening: Intensive model sessions with step-by-step guidance.
- Part 3 – Follow-up & Growth: Personal feedback, correction sessions, and opportunities for advanced techniques like hairstrokes, powderbrows, or lip blush.
Depending on the path, the full training lasts 2 to 9 months, including follow-up.
“I don’t believe in mass training,” emphasizes Sem. “Each student has a different pace, hand pressure, and sensitivity to detail. That’s why I work in small groups of up to 4 people or provide 1-on-1 coaching. This ensures personal growth and technical precision.”
What can you do after the training?
Upon completion, you receive an official certificate and are ready to start treatments independently. You learn not only the technique but also how to professionally guide clients — from intake to aftercare. Sem continues to support her students. They can always reach out for questions or feedback.
“I don’t let my students go after certification. Real growth begins when they work with real clients. That’s when the questions, nuances, and confidence appear.”
Which trainings do you offer?
Sem offers a wide range of PMU courses, including:
- Basic Permanent Makeup (eyebrows, eyeliner, lips)
- Powderbrows & hairstroke techniques
- Lip Blush & Lip Neutralization
- Eyeliner techniques (classic, shaded, infralash)
- Perfection & refresher sessions for experienced artists
- Medical pigmentation
She also provides mentorships and business coaching for those looking to grow their PMU and beauty business professionally.
“My mission is to make each student a confident, aware artist. Technique can be taught — vision and feeling grow through experience, feedback, and guidance.”
The ultimate tip for aspiring PMU talents (and doubters!):
“Don’t wait until you feel ‘ready,’” Sem says with a smile. “You grow by doing, not by hesitating. PMU is a craft requiring precision, but above all, passion. If you feel that tingle when you place a perfectly symmetrical eyebrow or see a lip color come to life — then you are in the right place.”
Permanent makeup isn’t a trend; it’s a future-oriented skill. According to Sem, that’s exactly what the beauty world needs today: professionals with heart, attention to detail, and love for transformation.
“Every line you draw changes someone’s view of themselves. That’s the power of our craft.”
