Love is a card game with jokers and kings… Abstract® Ambassador Anke Meulewaeter has fond childhood memories tied to the song “Liefde is een kaartspel,” which inspired her to create a beautiful nail set based on this song!

“When I recently heard this song on the radio, the theme for my Valentine’s set was instantly clear. When I think of a card game, three colors come to mind: red, white, and black. So I decided to use the three classic and must-have Brush N' Colors: Scarlet, Porcelain White, and Black Beauty!”

  • Step 1: Apply two coats of Porcelain White. Cure each coat: 60 s under Dual Wave/LED (at least 36 W) or 120 s under UV lamp.
  • Step 2: Apply two coats of Scarlet horizontally at the bottom of the nail, extending roughly to the middle. Cure each coat as instructed. Don’t worry about a perfect edge—the striping tape will sharpen it later.
  • Step 3: Apply two coats of Black Beauty on the top left of the nail. Again, a clean line isn’t required here, as striping tape will be placed later.
  • Step 4: Cleanse the nail to remove the tacky layer (or apply a layer of Matt Velvet). The nail must not be sticky for stamping or striping tape application. Use MoYou stamping plates and stamping polish to create your desired design. Anke used the Games 02 stamping plate and red (Red Lorry) and white (White Knight) stamping polishes. Then apply striping tape along the line between Scarlet and Black Beauty.
  • Step 5: Apply a layer of Stick 2 Base over the entire nail and cure. This layer seals and protects your stamped design and striping tape.
  • Step 6: Apply Rubber Glitter Velvet Lotus Flower White over the black section of the nail and cure.
  • Step 7: Apply Gloss & Shine topcoat over the entire nail and cure.
