Give your device the care it deserves: maintenance tips for lasting working pleasure

In your salon, everything revolves around quality and trust. You invest in top-quality equipment, you deliver professional work every day… but do you also give your device the care it needs? Too often, we see devices fail because of something simple: lack of maintenance. A clogged handpiece, a sputtering spray gun, a bit that no longer does what it should do. Small things, with big consequences. And the good news?

You can prevent almost all of it. In this blog, we give you practical tips and insights that help your device last longer — without expensive repairs, frustrations, or waiting times.

Working smart means regular maintenance Good

Maintenance is not a waste of time, but a smart way of working. It extends the lifespan of your equipment, prevents downtime in your salon, and ensures your treatments always run smoothly. Whether it’s a dry or wet drill, a spray gun, or a cordless device: those who use them correctly and care for them daily will enjoy them for years.

Daily basic care

A small routine at the end of your workday makes a big difference. Clean your handpiece with a soft cloth and a little alcohol – avoid acetone or aggressive products. This safely removes dust, grease, and residue without causing damage. Do you use a spray gun? Rinse it immediately after use with lukewarm water or a suitable cleaner. If you wait too long, the product dries and causes blockages or damage. One minute of rinsing prevents a lot of hassle later. It is also best to blow out your handpiece once a week to prevent dust buildup.

Signs of wear? Don't wait too long

Devices often indicate themselves when something is wrong.A flickering light, fluctuating power, or a malfunctioning pedal can point to a loose or damaged connection. Tape or adhesive tape is not a solution — have the part replaced in time. In many cases, this can be done quickly and affordably.

Don’t forget your bits and accessories Drill bits also deserve attention.

Daily use causes dust, grease, and product residue to build up, which affects their performance. Rinse them after each use with warm water and soap, brush them thoroughly (possibly with a fine brush for the grooves), and let them dry. Drill bits can also be perfectly cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner and then disinfected with alcohol or an approved disinfectant. Acetone is not an alternative for disinfection.

Batteries & chargers: prevent unnecessary wear

For rechargeable devices: only charge when the battery is almost empty (around 20–30%) and remove them from the charger once they are 100%. Avoid using the device while charging and always choose the original charger. This extends the lifespan and prevents damage.
